Registration for the 2024 Spring session opens on February 13th, 2024. Our volunteer team is hard at work preparing for the 2024 season.
Lakeview Community has been organizing a long and successful youth soccer program for many years. The focus is on fun and participation for all. It is a fantastic way to get your kids active plus it is a chance for children and parents alike to connect and re-connect with old and new friends in our fantastic community. All are welcome and encouraged to join. The season is approximately eight weeks long (mid April to mid June) with two sessions per week.
The fee is $70 per child and a one-time $30 Lakeview Community Association family membership for the 2024/2025 year is also required.
As you are registering your children, consider volunteering as a coach. In addition, our volunteer committee could always use some off-the-field help.
Whether it is three kids kicking a ball around on a local field or it is the World Cup Final, soccer is always "the beautiful game".

"The soccer part teaches coordination and promotes teamwork and sharing. It allows kids opportunities to to safely exercise and recreate in a fun environment. The community part is a great way for kids and parents alike to spend time together as a community."

"Lakeview soccer is a great way for parents and kids to connect in the community. It offers a great introduction to the sport in a fun and engaging environment. It's a huge perk to have a league like this in the community."

Volunteering
The program is organized and operationalized almost exclusively by volunteers in our community:
- At the core of the program are the on field coaches. As you go to register your kids to play, consider coaching them as well. Coaches are provided with resource material to help organize sessions. In addition, a pre-season coach-the-coaches seminar is provided. The main qualification - enthusiasm. No previous soccer or coaching experience necessary. Most parents who coach report that this is a great way to participate in a meaningful and proactive way in the lives of their kids. Truly rewarding!
- Beyond coaching, the program can always use behind-the-scenes help as well. Functions such as equipment organization and procurement, registration, rostering, scheduling, recognition, on-field coordination, website management, promotion, sponsorship all need to be looked after before, during and after the season. Let us know if you can help in those areas.
Lakeview is in centrally located at
Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail SW.
Sponsors & Partners
Thanks once again to Ron Garneau at Re/Max Calgary for sponsoring the player's team shirts.
We are pleased to continue our long standing partnership with Chinooks FC. Over the years, these great people have provided us with coaching resources, suggestions and inspiration. If your kids are wanting to play at a more competitive level or are just wanting to play more, the Chinooks offer a year round experience for all age groups and abilities.
The contributions of Ron and the Chinooks enhance the program experience for the kids, parents and organizers.
